In recognition of National Black History Month, Festival Director, Forrest Guittar, offers a visual art exhibit focusing on the stories behind a number of African – American spirituals.

Combined with the visual art exhibit, Festival Director, Forrest Guittar, explores the writings of James Weldon Johnson’s black sermons from his GOD’S TROMBONES, combining them with meditations on African-American Spirituals, and insights gained from his experience with such composers as Jester Hairston, Moses Hogan and many others.
