St. Martin’s Chamber Choir

Saturday, December 18 @ 7:30 pm – 9:15 pm

Johannes Brahms acknowledged only one student as a protégé worthy of his legacy, and that was Heinrich von Herzogenberg (1843-1900). In 1894, at the height of his powers, Herzogenberg composed a Christmas oratorio entitled Die Geburt Christi (The Birth of Christ) in a form redolent of a Bach Passion. These twin muses – Bach and Brahms – result in a work of unique power and beauty, performed in collaboration with members of the Pro-Musica Chamber Orchestra. Preceding the oratorio will be a selection of favorite carol arrangements.

Colorado Bach Ensemble

Sunday, December 19 @ 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

**We will be presenting the Complete Messiah at Bethany Lutheran Church

Quite likely the most beloved choral work of all time, Handel’s Messiah, has been performed annually all over the world since its premiere in Dublin in 1742. After a year off in 2020 due to the pandemic, Colorado Bach Ensemble is thrilled to continue this festive Holiday tradition! We will present two performances this December, giving Colorado audiences an inspiring and exhilarating experience of this magnificent work! Joining the professional chorus/orchestra are some of the country’s premier Baroque soloists from right here in Colorado! This is one you won’t want to miss!

Canto Deo Chamber and Festival Choirs

Monday, December 20 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Tuesday, December 21 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Please plan to join us for our upcoming concert, A Canto Deo Christmas! We are delighted to announce our return to presenting this special event in person! Under the direction of Jonathan Brown, the Canto Deo Festival Choir and Orchestra has shared the rich tradition of sacred Christmas music in the metro Denver area for nearly two decades now.

This year’s program features familiar carols from composers like Handel, Wilberg, and Rutter, alongside Dan Forrest and Matthew Owens. Also, this year’s concert will premiere a specially commissioned piece, The Christmas Story, by celebrated British composer Thomas Hewitt Jones. We look forward to seeing you!

Free tickets are required for admission; due to COVID safety protocols, audience size may be smaller than in years past.
