The newly-formed Seicento Baroque Ensemble is Colorado’s only choir to specialize in performances of lesser known 17th and 18th century Baroque choral music using historically-informed performance practices. The ensemble fills a void in the Colorado choral scene by performing inspirational and worthy Baroque choral music, both a cappella and accompanied, generally from Western Europe. This music influenced many composers, including J.S. Bach and Handel.   This ensemble is under the direction of Evanne Browne, who presented the only (ever) performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 in Colorado, including a performance at Bethany Lutheran Church.

They may be old, they may be dead, but they’ve still got plenty of game!  Come and hear the old dead Germans ROAR TO LIFE as Rick pulls out all the stops in this wide-ranging program.  Plenty of jokes and educational commentary will be provided at no extra charge.

The annual summer conference of the Colorado ACDA is presented, featuring nationally recognized clinicians leading sessions on a variety of topics. Also included are reading sessions. The conference closes with a concert lead by one of these clinicians.

Dr. Howard Skinner, Conductor, leads this outstanding choir and orchestra in Requiem in C Minor by Luigi Cherubini ,  and Te Deum by Hector Berlioz. 

Voices of Light Chamber Choir, an Ensemble in Residence at the Festival of Faith and the Arts, will be joined by the Emerson String Quartet and pianist Sarah Libert presents a concert of gorgeous music by young Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.  Gjeilo’s music is radiant and compelling, inspired by the aurora borealis in Gjeilo’s native Norway.  The composer, who studied at the Julliard School in New York City, is informed by film and cinematic music, heard especially in this concert’s epic opening work, “The Dark Night of the Soul.”  The sixteen voices of VOICES will move you during the hour-long journey.  Refreshments afterwards.
